Early-strength polycarboxylate superplasticizer (PCE) makes concrete gain strength faster. It is used for precast components, cold weather and fast-track work. Our PC 6030E reaches a 1-day strength ratio of 180% or more, compared with a standard PCE.
A standard PCE provides high water reduction. An early-strength PCE does the same, and adds one further benefit: it accelerates the early strength gain, so the concrete can be demoulded, loaded or opened to traffic much sooner.
Early-strength PCE is built on an EPEG monomer with amino and sulfonic acid groups, which promote the early hydration of the cement. The cement reacts faster in the first days, so the concrete is strong sooner — while retaining the high water reduction of a standard PCE.
The specification for our early-strength PCE, PC 6030E:

The strength ratios below compare PC 6030E with a standard PCE, on the same C25 concrete:

Two points stand out:
The 1-day ratio of 180% is the early-strength effect — the concrete is strong much sooner.
The chloride content of 0.06% or less is low, so it is safe for reinforced concrete.

0.2% to 0.5% of the cementitious material. Confirm the exact dose with a trial mix.
Do not mix it with a naphthalene-based water reducer.
If combining it with other additives, test first.
